I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and, out and find pasture. (John 10:9, NKJV).
Jesus’ declaration, “I am the door,” is a resounding affirmation that He is our exclusive access to God. “Christ is the door to the fold of God. Through this door all His children, from the earliest times, have found entrance.”–The Desire of Ages, p. 477.
The symbolism of the door represents welcome and admission. Christ depicts Himself as an open door through which the sinner may enter in his or her quest for salvation and freedom. Jesus is the wide-open door to true freedom, forgiveness, and triumph living. He is the open door to unimpeded access to God and to all the privileges and blessings of salvation. He has promised that all who enter the open door will find freedom, security and safety. This promise is fully underwritten by the words: “If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved” (John 10:9, NKJV). What a precious promise is embodied in these powerful words!
As the open door, Jesus stands ready to welcome all who would come to Him in faith. In love and tender compassion, He says: “Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Those who enter the open door of Christ’s finished work become the joyous recipients of unbroken communion and peace with God. The open door introduces the believer to a new life of victory, peace with God, and the blessed assurance of Christ’s sustaining grace. Those who enter the open door are assured of adequate spiritual food and nurture from the hand of the Good Shepherd.
Today, the door stands ajar to welcome all who desire to enter and be saved. Let us praise God today that Jesus Christ is the wide-open door to the blessings and privileges of the abundant life. “Christ is the door to the fold of God. Through this door all His children, from the earliest times, have found entrance.’–The Desire of Ages, p. 477.
My Prayer Today: Lord, I thank You for Jesus, the open door to eternal life. Amen. c
